About

I am the Director of Projects and a Senior Researcher at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT). My primary research explores aspects of irregular warfare and terrorism, including actor structures, insurgencies, counterinsurgency (COIN) strategy and hostage taking. More broadly, my work focuses on the use of political violence as a tool of state and non-state actors and the different methods they utilize.

In conjunction with my work at the ICT, I am an adjunct faculty member in the
Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy at Reichman University where I teach undergraduate and graduate courses on security studies, open-source intelligence (OSINT), geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), and terrorist use of emerging technologies (including Generative AI).

I have written and lectured in my areas of research around the world, and consulted various governmental, military, and law enforcement agencies on issues related to terrorism, counterterrorism, and irregular warfare.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, I completed a B.A. at Maryville University of St. Louis before moving to Israel to complete an M.A. in Counter-Terrorism and Homeland Security and an M.A. in Government Research at Reichman University.
